Magasin Latulippe

Magasin Latulippe, a family business, has become a legend in Quebec in the outdoor sport business sector.  This store dedicated to hunting, fishing and camping activities started as a second-hand dress store on the ground floor of the family residence, more than a century old, on Saint-Vallier Street in the Saint-Sauveur district of Quebec City.

Although expansions through the years were accomplished by grafting neighboring buildings unto the original retail store, the recent purchase of several additional properties instigated a major expansion project, including the rationalization of existing spaces and the restoration of the original building.

The mandate given to Indesign/CA was to design the architecture of this ambitious project. At the heart of the design was a central atrium that opened unto a terrace roof. From this vantage point, the panoramic view constitutes a major asset for the seasonal sales as one’s gaze is directed to the mountains and the sport destinations so sought out by the urban customers of Magasin Latulippe.
