Les Cascades Residence

Built in 1972 as a residence for seniors, the tower Les Cascades originally offered a reassuring environment but it has since become institutional and depressing.

The Indesign/CA concept takes its inspiration from garden-space rationale for the entrance hall, the main salon, the new solarium and the foyers on each floor. Based on design principles for landscaping, the concept incorporates sinuous lines as well as a made-to-measure carpet with leaves, floral images on the walls and walnut wood finishes on the columns and the reception desk.

The design also includes the addition of light wells to the ceiling’s alcoves and of a solarium providing sufficient lighting to enliven the whole. The resulting atmosphere exudes elegance and a spatial quality comparable to those of a stylish hotel, all of it connected to the exceptional site that overlooks Rivière des Prairies.
