"Imagine l’édition"

The principal element of this installation is a metal skeleton clothed with a semi-transparent shroud. The U shape thus created alludes to a magnet and its invisible forces, a metaphor for the work of the editor whose labor is hidden but whose influence is nonetheless determining. Fourteen displays located in front of the magnet illustrate the diverse aspects of a literary creation impelled by editors.

The red side of the canvas that covers the main structure is inscribed with excerpts from acclaimed francophone authors. On its black side, appear the names of Canada’s French publishing houses. The project received financial support from Heritage Canada. The installation toured Canada in 1999 and Europe [Paris, Barcelona] in 2000.
